A Young CMA Winner of the 2009 Prix Relève d’Excellence

2009 Prix Relève d’Excellence Finalist
Jean-Sébastien Proulx Maher, CMA,
Winner in the Young Professional Category

Montreal, May 26, 2009 – The CMA Order would like to congratulate Jean-Sébastien Proulx Maher, CMA, winner in the Young Professional category of the prestigious 24th Prix Relève d’Excellence competition presented on May 22 at the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth Hotel.

Organized by the Réseau HEC Montréal, the Prix Relève d'Excellence publicly recognizes the professional achievements of young HEC graduates aged 35 and under, thereby encouraging young managers to excel.

Hired by SNC Lavalin in 2004, Jean-Sébastien Proulx Maher is now in charge of consolidating the accounts of European subsidiaries with one single banking institution. During his studies at HEC Montreal, he was already actively promoting the influence of the CMA profession by acting as an ambassador for the CMA Student Committee. “We are happy and proud to note that Mr. Proulx Maher continues to show the qualities of excellence and leadership that he is known for,” said François Renauld, President-Executive Director of the Order. “His many achievements, including the implementation of a project in 2008 that enabled SNC Lavalin to optimize cash surpluses and secure its liquid assets in Europe just before the financial market collapse, are clear examples of these qualities. We are delighted to witness the success of this young CMA with such a promising future!”

The CMA Order would also like to congratulate another CMA finalist in the same category, Marie-Luce Frenette, who works at the East Angus site of the Cascades Boxboard Group. Recognizing the talent of these two young professionals reflects on the CMA profession and helps demonstrate the added value of this professional designation within organizations.
